big following in florida with the nra i can see that. looking at their website you know, and everyone looks at florida as far as concealed weapon permits i think it has tripled over the last few years. i know the nra has over four million members. people want to bear arms. i upt stand that. people want to have concealed weapons now. when i say it is a problem not just the state of florida. i see that as a problem states are operating as individual countries. when you go to europe, you know, the size is around the same but you see each state size is a country in europe. we are operating like a country. each state if colorado wants marijuana then they goat et it. if florida wants to have guns. was i was growing up i noticed that the federal government stepped in more. the lawmakers were accountable. if you went too mar in yofar in state the federal government slapped you back a little bit. when president obama came into arizona he got a stern talking to. and he's a chief of the country and he has a finger in his face. we have to have the respect for our leaders. the best that we can do

from texas and the washington post saying i worry the nra has become a captive of the republican party at a time that it needs democratic votes. in the long run it will be weakened. brian ballard in the "wall street journal", a top republican fundraiser in florida, said opposition to certain gun control measures will make our job a lot harder electing middle of the road republicans in the future. i think republicans have to be mindful that just because the nra says something, it doesn't mean it's going to be advantageous to you and sort of the demographic we're speaking to in specific here is mothers across america. women who are swing voters. what is the republican party doing if it wants to win those votes 2014, 2016 and beyond? >> i think it probably ends up doing sort of close to what the democratic party is going to do, which is if you look at the kinds of gun controls that people support, they're not really very effective at stopping these kinds of shootings, right? the assault weapons ban, we had columbine. we had michael corn he'll and a lot of school shootings after that ban b

it done? >> well, they probably don't have the votes today. it will be interesting to see what the nra who is going to be making press announcements tomorrow start to say and whether they start letting some members off the hook on assault weapons bans. i don't know if they will, but i can tell you this. the nra has four million members. you know, the campaigns like mayors against illegal guns and others, within a few weeks they are going to have four million members. this is just not going to be tolerated in the same way anymore. and senators like scott brown may end up being kind of the first test on this. he made that crafty statement because he opposed a federal bill in the past. >> you mean the state should have the responsibility. >> right. but he knew as a senator that it was never going to pass. he was the number one recipient of nra money in his campaign over this last year. a lot of senators are going to find themselves in the cross hairs because of taking all of that money and when he comes back to -- tries to come back to the senate, that may very well be a big issue. >> like jo
